Insurance & Fees
I want the financial side of therapy to be clear before your first session. Below is everything you need to know about insurance, fees, and payment.
Insurance
I am in-network with the following insurance plans in Pennsylvania:
- Highmark
- UPMC
I also accept VCAP (Victims Compensation Assistance Program), which covers counseling for victims of crime in Pennsylvania.
If you have a different insurance plan, I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Many plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network therapy costs. Contact your insurer and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before your first session.
Session Fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Individual therapy session | $150 |
| Couples therapy session | $150 |
If you are using Highmark, UPMC, or VCAP, your copay or coinsurance will depend on your specific plan. I verify benefits before your first session so there are no surprises.
Superbills
A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and session information your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. You pay the session fee at the time of service, then submit the superbill to your insurer for reimbursement.
Reimbursement rates vary by plan. To find out what your plan covers, call the member services number on your insurance card and ask:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
- What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed after the deductible?
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost. This applies to all patients, including those with insurance. I provide this estimate before treatment begins so you can plan accordingly.
Getting Started
If you have questions about whether your insurance is accepted, what your out-of-pocket costs will be, or how the superbill process works, reach out. I'm happy to walk through the details before you commit to anything.
